8 things…
A long time ago in a galaxy far, …err, sorry, back in September, we kicked off a little competition to win an iPod, linked in with our first big advertising campaign in t’Big Smoke. For those of you that haven’t yet become completely bored with the ‘London Calling’ blog entry that’s been lingering on here for weeks, you can refresh your memory here.
Hello Readers!
It’s been a typically busy week here in Sheffield and obviously it’s Children in Need today! Not that we need an excuse but we’ve all been getting in the spirit by stuffing our faces with a variety of savory and sugary goods. Nom Nom Nom… I’ll let this weeks posters tell you more! More…
It’s Children in Need today of course. We’re having a bit of fund-raising fun here in the office today. Lots of people who can cook (and some who clearly can’t) have made cakes, buns and biscuits for the rest of us to buy. More…
It’s an interesting job sometimes working in traffic management. Sometimes I have a legitimate reason for watching TV or looking at the Radio Times. Have to make sure the football’s working for you all on Sky Player or the Grand Prix on iPlayer

Superstitious, me? Ha ha!! As if. Well, with it being Friday 12+1th of November (I tried 12th+1, which is probably more correct, but I decided to be awkward and sound more silly), I decided to More…
For almost a month now, we’ve been offering new phone line installations at a special low price of just £49.99 to our home broadband customers. That’s less than half of the wholesale cost.
Now there’s even better news. We’re extending the offer right through until the 31st January 2010. More…
Following the two segments we lit a couple of weeks ago, we’re pleased to announce that yesterday we activated the third segment of our most recently provisioned 622Mbps pipe of central bandwidth.
Customers connecting to the new segment will see their traffic routed through the gateway known as thn-ag2.
Whilst on the topic we also increased the bandwidth available on our 21CN network earlier today, this will benefit our Up to 20Mbps ADSL2+ customers and any ‘Up to 8Mbps’ customers who we recently emailed about moving across to the 21CN network.
Hello readers!
Remember remember the 6th of November, because it’s the day that system problems prevented Andrew from posting when he wanted to earlier resulting in it being done much later than he originally planned! More…
Hello readers!
It’s been a nice week off (cheers Kelly) but I’m back in the chair again for this weeks End of Week posting. More…
Hot on the heels of the segment we lit last week, we’re pleased to announce that after a few teething problems we’ve finally managed to get a brand new 622Mbps BT central installed at one of our data centres down in London docklands.
Affectionately named ‘Plusnet 15′, we’ve already lit half of the new pipe (2 x 155Mbps segments) and have customers connecting to it as I type. If you do manage to get onto the new central then you’ll find that your traffic routes through the gateway known as thn-ag2.
This extra capacity will help us resolve the recent complaints of slow speeds during the evening, something we’ve been chronicling over on our Service Status feed.
Following on from the one and only Carl Baker’s appearance on Sky Sports, and his now infamous victory over ex-world heavyweight champion Danny Williams, we’re excited to announce yet another TV appearance by a Plusnetter!
Gordon Vaughan, clearly demonstrating that he’s smarter than the average business and partner staffer, will be putting his wits to the test on today’s Channel 4’s legendary Countdown! Not quite as dangerous as the 3 rounds with the Brixton Bomber but equally taxing on the old grey matter!
If you want to catch Gordon, he makes his appearance at 3.25pm on Channel 4.
Good luck Flash, knock ‘em dead.
